A drone struck a gas tanker owned by an American company in the Egyptian port of Damietta, according to maritime security firm Ambrey.
The incident occurred after two gas tankers caught fire in the port of Damietta on the Mediterranean coast of Egypt. Ambrey reported that the incident was caused by a drone strike on the gas storage tanker Energos Winter, which is owned by an American company.
Fire in the Port of Damietta
The strike ignited a fire on board the vessel, which subsequently spread to the neighboring gas tanker Gaslog Salem. The crews of both vessels were evacuated, and the fire was brought under control.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far. The circumstances surrounding the incident and the origin of the drone remain unclear.
