Iranian President states Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is in ‘excellent health’

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated on Monday that Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is in ‘excellent health’.

He made this statement in an interview with state television IRIB TV, commenting on his recent seven-hour meeting with the Supreme Leader. Iranian media reported on Sunday that Pezeshkian met with him at the beginning of the third year of his presidency.

Commenting on the meeting, Pezeshkian noted that the Supreme Leader emphasized the preservation of national unity and solidarity as the most important issue. The president described the meeting as ‘very good’, noting that the main topics of discussion included the welfare of the population, employment, and housing.

“We also discussed the problems that arose due to sanctions,” he added.

Mojtaba Khamenei has not appeared in public since his election

Iran’s Assembly of Experts elected Mojtaba Khamenei as the country’s new Supreme Leader in March. His election followed the killing of his father and former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on February 28 in joint strikes by the U.S. and Israel.
