IRGC Claims Strikes on Amazon Infrastructure in Bahrain and US Bases in Jordan

Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that it carried out strikes on Amazon infrastructure in Bahrain and military facilities of the United States in Jordan.

The organization, described by a source as a “terrorist group”, reported this on Monday. According to the IRGC-affiliated Tasnim News Agency, several cruise missiles allegedly attacked and destroyed the central infrastructure of Amazon‘s data processing centers. Tasnim also reported that the IRGC claimed a strike on US military facilities in Jordan.

The IRGC further asserted that a missile defense system and a US Air Force F-15 fighter jet were destroyed in Jordan. According to the corps’ representatives, the strike was “a continuation of the operation to clear the region of radars and defense systems, paving the way for larger missile and drone attacks, and completing the black night of the radar of the American enemy”.

Later on Tuesday, Bahrain confirmed the interception of Iranian attacks but did not specify which facilities may have been targeted or damaged. Sirens continued to sound in Bahrain on Tuesday afternoon after Iran, according to the Fars news agency, also linked to the IRGC, claimed a strike on a US naval base in the country. Bahrain hosts the headquarters of the US Navy’s 5th Fleet — the main naval force of the US Central Command (CENTCOM).
