Poll: Meloni’s party strengthens leadership, right-wing gains ground in Italy

The «Brothers of Italy» (Fratelli d’Italia) party of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni retains its leadership and has increased its lead over the Democratic Party, while the far-right «National Future» (Futuro Nazionale) party, led by Roberto Vannacci, continues to close the gap with «Forward, Italy» (Forza Italia). This is reflected in the results of a Swg poll conducted for the Tg La7 television channel, which captures electoral sentiments as of Monday, July 27.

«Brothers of Italy» gained 0.1 percentage points, reaching 27% support. In contrast, the Democratic Party, led by Elly Schlein, lost 0.2 percentage points, falling to 20.9%. The «Five Star Movement» (Movimento 5 Stelle), led by Giuseppe Conte, also experienced a decline, now standing at 12.9% support.

Growth of «National Future» and positions of other parties

«Forward, Italy» saw a decrease of 0.1 percentage points, now at 7.6% support. Meanwhile, «National Future» continues to gain traction, adding 0.2 percentage points to reach 6.9%, further distancing itself from the «Greens and Left» (Avs) alliance, which holds 6.5% support. Notably, Avs is the only opposition force showing positive momentum, with an increase of 0.1 percentage points. The «League» (Lega), led by Matteo Salvini, also improved its standing, rising from 5.5% to 5.7%.

Further down the list are «Action» (Azione) led by Carlo Calenda with 3.4%, «Italia Viva» led by Matteo Renzi with 2.3%, «+Europa» with 1.2%, «Noi Moderati» with 1%, «Sud chiama Nord» with 1%, and «Ora!» with 1%.
