Trump threatens strikes on Iran’s bridges and power plants over attacks in the Strait of Hormuz

US President Donald Trump declared that the United States will destroy a bridge or power plant in Iran each time Tehran attacks a ship in the Strait of Hormuz. He emphasized that it does not matter whether the attack is carried out with a rocket, drone, or any other weapon — in response, the US “will bomb and destroy” a bridge or power plant near the Iranian capital.

“From now on, every time the Islamic Republic of Iran opens fire on a ship in the Strait of Hormuz — with a rocket, drone, or any other weapon — the United States will bomb and destroy ONE BRIDGE OR POWER PLANT, including those located near Tehran or in the Iranian capital itself”, wrote Donald Trump on the platform X. This statement followed another wave of US strikes on Iran, during which air defense systems fired over Tehran.

Escalation of tensions and diplomatic efforts

Iran launched a rocket attack on a Jordanian city near the border with Israel, prompting warnings in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. The latest US strike marked the 11th consecutive attack on the Islamic Republic, while diplomatic efforts have yet to yield significant progress.

Official representatives from both sides continue to hold firm positions regarding the Strait of Hormuz — a critical sea route for global energy that remains largely closed due to Iran’s attacks.
