Lavrov: Russia may consider Britain as a party to the war in Ukraine

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated on August 18 that Russia has the right to consider the direct involvement of Great Britain in strikes on Russian territory as participation in the war in Ukraine, according to the Interfax agency.

Reaction to reports about British drones

His comments came after the newspaper The Times reported on Saturday that drones of British manufacture were used for the first time to carry out long‑range strikes on Russian territory.

Following this report, the Russian Embassy in London warned Britain of unspecified «consequences» due to the supply of drones to Kyiv.

Statements by Britain and warnings from Moscow

British official Andy Burnham said on Tuesday that the country would support Ukraine «100%» in its fight against Russia and would stand by Kyiv «in a difficult time».

Earlier, Moscow accused British experts of involvement in attacks on Russian territory, stating that Britain’s role would be «taken into consideration» when determining its response.
