France, Germany, Italy and Britain are calling on Israel to stop the expansion of settlements in the West Bank.
In a joint statement, the four countries emphasized that “the decision of the Israeli government to announce tenders for construction within the E1 project is unacceptable”.
Consequences of the E1 project
They noted that the settlement E1 “will jeopardize the prospect of resolving the conflict on the basis of two states, as it will create a split in the West Bank and harm the territorial integrity of the Palestinian territories”.
