Turkey is seeking the international arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and another Israeli citizen in the case of the detention of activists who were part of the “Flotilla for Gaza.” This was reported on Friday on X by Turkey’s Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç.
The Turkish Ministry of Justice said that, as part of the judicial proceedings concerning the attack on the flotilla activists in international waters, and based on the arrest warrants issued on July 14, 2026 against Benjamin Netanyahu and Afek Moskovich, it has asked the Ministry of Internal Affairs to issue “red notices” for their international search and arrest.
Charges against Netanyahu and Moskovich
According to the Turkish ministry, Netanyahu and Moskovich are charged with “crimes against humanity, genocide, unlawful deprivation of liberty under aggravating circumstances, aggression, intentional infliction of bodily harm, torture, destruction of property, looting under aggravating circumstances, and theft of vehicles.”
Israel’s interception of the flotilla, which in May carried about 430 activists, sparked a wave of international outrage. France, Italy, and Australia have also initiated legal proceedings.
