French President Emmanuel Macron, British politician Andy Burnham and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz will co‑chair a meeting on Monday of the so‑called ‘Coalition of the Willing’ — a group of countries supporting Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will participate in the meeting in Kyiv, which will be held both in person and remotely. Macron’s office did not specify on Friday who exactly would be present in person. The Ukrainian capital has recently been subjected to intense shelling, and Zelensky has called on allies to increase aid to Ukraine.
Who will participate in the meeting
President of the European Council António Costa will participate in the meeting in person, and NATO Deputy Secretary General Radmila Shekerinska will join remotely. This was reported by NATO and the EU in separate statements.
‘Leaders will confirm their determination to strengthen support for Ukraine so that it can defend itself against Russian aggression,’ according to a statement from Macron’s office.
