U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday that oil prices will fall once the conflict with Iran ends. He shared this in a post on the social media platform Truth Social.
Donald Trump linked rising costs in the United States to the policies of former President Joe Biden and his administration. He claimed that oil prices were higher during Biden‘s term than they are now. He also stated that the United States did not allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons.
Trump expects sharp drop in oil prices
The president noted that, aside from a temporary spike, oil prices are falling sharply. He expects oil prices to drop significantly once the military conflict with Iran concludes, adding that it “won’t take long.”
He also noted that oil is transported through the Strait of Hormuz. In his view, countries around the world that “didn’t give us any help at all” should compensate the United States after the conflict ends, which he described as “fabricated and misleading.” He emphasized that the United States does far more for others than for itself, and has done so for generations.
