Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian thanked Russian President Vladimir Putin for the position Moscow took in the Middle East war. This was their first meeting since the start of the conflict.
Pezeshkian told Vladimir Putin: «We appreciate and thank you for your position at every stage — both during the hostilities and acts of aggression, and in normal circumstances when the United States imposed sanctions on us at the United Nations and other international forums».
Strategic relations
Pezeshkian made this statement during a meeting with Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Kyrgyzstan. He added that this demonstrates: «our relations are strategic; these are not ordinary relations».
