The Kremlin expects the resumption of trilateral peace talks involving Ukraine and the USA in the near future. This was announced during a briefing by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary for the President of Russia, as quoted by TASS.
According to Dmitry Peskov, there is a broad initiative and political will to restart the negotiations. “We hope that these negotiations will be resumed in the near future,” said the spokesperson for the Russian president.
Lack of a peace settlement plan
At the same time, Dmitry Peskov claims that there is currently no clear “roadmap” for a peaceful settlement of the war with Ukraine. He made this comment in response to statements by USA Secretary of State Marco Rubio regarding the preparation of such a “roadmap.”
“We do not wish to discuss any points publicly, especially since no formal, clear programmes or roadmaps exist at the moment,” stated Dmitry Peskov.
