Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan a “dictator‑anti‑Semite” and said Israel “will not allow itself to be intimidated.” Netanyahu made the remark after Turkey’s justice minister announced an arrest warrant for him.
In his statement, Netanyahu described Erdogan as a “dictator‑anti‑Semite who carried out mass killings of Kurds, provides shelter to terrorists from HAMAS, occupies half of Cyprus, and imprisons a record number of journalists and political opponents.”
Netanyahu accuses Erdogan of aggression against Israel
Netanyahu also said that Erdogan “is now trying to extend his aggression against Israel to Syria.” The prime minister emphasized that Israel “will not tolerate this.”
He added that “Erdogan’s attempt to intimidate the leaders and soldiers of Israel, a democracy in the Middle East, will not succeed.”
