Netanyahu declares victory over Hezbollah after destroying key strongholds

Israeli Prime Minister Беньямін Нетаньягу said on Monday that Israel has achieved victory over Хезболла after destroying its fortifications at the фортеці Шакіф and the Алі ат-Тахір heights. In a video address released by his office, Беньямін Нетаньягу warned that if the “enemies of Israel” launch new attacks, the country will deliver “significantly stronger blows.”

Last Thursday, the Israeli military announced the destruction of Хезболла underground infrastructure at the Алі ат-Тахір heights in southern Lebanon. Беньямін Нетаньягу called this an “achievement.” In a joint statement the same day, Minister of Defense Ісраель Кац and the Prime Minister said the Israeli army had completed the creation of a security zone in southern Lebanon after eliminating that underground network.

Israel accuses Хезболла of building tunnels in the area, which, according to Israeli officials, were used to launch drones and rockets at Israeli military targets in southern Lebanon and northern Israel.

Беньямін Нетаньягу emphasized that the government’s policy remains unchanged: “We will continue to destroy terrorist infrastructure in the security zone in Lebanon. We will continue to eliminate any threat facing the State of Israel.”
