Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova warned that Russia could strike British military facilities and equipment in Ukraine and elsewhere in response to Ukrainian attacks allegedly carried out with British weapons. Russia has not provided evidence to support these claims.
Zakharova said: “The response to Ukrainian strikes using British weapons on Russian territory could be any British military facilities and equipment in Ukraine or elsewhere.” This was reported by “European Pravda” with reference to the Russian propaganda agency “TASS”.
The Russian Foreign Ministry representative also claimed that Britain “will not be able to avoid responsibility” for transferring long‑range Storm Shadow missiles and the technology needed to produce them to Ukraine.
Threats after the decision on Storm Shadow
Moscow’s threats came after British Prime Minister Andy Burnham announced on August 24 the decision to transfer Storm Shadow production technology to Ukraine.
The next day, an advisor to the Russian leadership, Andrey Fedorov, said that British factories producing drones and missile components could become targets of attacks from “unknown sources”.
Previous threats and London’s response
Moscow has repeatedly threatened London over military aid to Ukraine. Earlier, Russia accused Britain of “a deliberate desire to escalate” after media reports that British‑made drones were allegedly used in strikes on targets in the Russian Federation.
British Prime Minister Andy Burnham responded by emphasizing that Britain will not allow Russia to intimidate it.
