The body of a young migrant of sub-Saharan origin was found this morning. He died trying to reach Ceuta from the hills of Morocco on a paraglider, falling into the sea shortly before landing. This was reported by sources from the Civil Guard, cited by the agency Efe.
The young man took off from the area of Benzú, located on the hills above the Moroccan coast opposite the northern bay of Ceuta. He was trying to reach the Spanish exclave of Ceuta. The causes of the incident are currently being investigated. According to preliminary data, he lost control of the paraglider and fell into the water.
Details of the rescue operation
When around 08:00 employees of the Civil Guard retrieved him from the sea, the man was already dead.
